They have produced meticulous work, with real care and pride, and have also been a pleasure to have in the house. It’s never easy having work done, but they have been unfailingly efficient, polite and efficient, as well as very patient when circumstances forced some last-minute changes. We couldn’t recommend them too highly.
John and Rob at Quality Finish did an amazing job from start to….well, finish. They were prompt, reliable, friendly and incredibly professional. The standard of their work is exemplary – several neighbours up and down our street stopped to ask if they’d come and look at their windows!! John was true to the cost he quoted us and worked hard to finish the job brilliantly but in good time, too. AND he went to the trouble of quoting us and then completing work on the stonework on the front of the house, meaning our freshly repaired and painted windows looked even better. Honestly, I would highly recommend Quality Finish – I couldn’t fault them for one second, enjoyed their company and we were actually sorry to see them go (not often you can say that when you’re having work done). They left things so tidily at the end of each day of work so it had minimum impact on us in the evenings. Weirdly, we’re sort of hoping we have to have more stuff done in the future that they can help with, because we entirely trust them.

I had eleven sash windows that required painting and they were, to some degree or other, in very poor condition. I live by the sea so the paintwork is affected by wind, sun and salt and was either non existent or flaking. I had them overhauled by Wessex Restoration and I knew that it would require a skilled painter and good quality paint to give the finish that I wanted. I choose Quality Finish to undertake the work, partly because they were a member of Trust Mark which is registered through Dulux Select Decorators, so I knew I would have a guarantee at the end. I am very pleased that I choose John Jones and his assistant. The work took 10 days and they were always punctual and never left until the work for that day had been completed. They covered all floors and furniture with clean dust sheets, their work clothes and overalls were kept clean and free from paint, as was the van they used, always spotless. All this was very encouraging as to what their work would be like and I was happy to leave them in my home unattended. At the end of the day all paints and dust sheets were cleared away and my home was a home again. As to the actual painting I couldn’t be more pleased, I could see that they took pride in what they did and no detail was too much trouble. They kept me informed as to how the work was progressing and what they had done that day. If something didn’t seem right to them, then it was done again until both them and myself were satisfied. I could see that they used Dulux paints which would be needed on such an exposed position. It was also good to see John was passing on his skills to his assistant. Both workers were friendly, skilled and clean, they took pride in their work a professional team. I would recommend Quality Finish to anyone who wanted a quality finish to their home.
Recent Feb 2024 work completed to restore over 26 sash windows. John and his team were excellent, from preparation to completion the communication reflected the commitment and focus in providing a very professional service and finish. This service also provided me with comfort and security for a significant investment, as we were not able to visit the property during the works but regular updates and photos ensured progress and issues were escalated quickly. I will certainly use them again and would highly recommend their service to anyone who wants peace of mind, the best finish and quality work for their property. Together with Bec and Rob you have just completed three weeks work at our house painting all the windows – well over 30 in total, including some large and awkward sashes.
You first painted them nine years ago and they had in fact lasted very well. There was one sill in a damp and sunless location that needed your expert attention but apart from that the paint had done its job very effectively.
We are very pleased with the refreshed paintwork and thank you for your friendly and helpful manner throughout. You arrived promptly each morning and got on the with the work. It was never a problem when we left you alone in the house as we had complete confidence in you all.

I can wholeheartedly recommend John and his team at Quality Finish. As their name suggests their work is of exceptional quality, but moreover they are a friendly bunch to have around. They tidy up nightly, and keep you informed of progress at every turn. We had a number of unexpected problems over the progress of our work (none of John’s making, rather of other contractors), but his “can do” attitude meant these never became a drama. Extra work was done willingly, and with a smile. We had to wait for John to start but the wait was definitely worth it!
